Once upon a time in Senior year of high school a writer had a weird dream with several very distant images and a good friend of hers wanted to be like Studio Estrigious and draw together. All they wanted to do was do comics together. SO the writer told her awesome artist friend about the story idea she had and suddenly there were the first few pages drawn...

Okay, so "Painted Wings" was something I wrote in my senior year of high school and pitched to my friend, Ariella. She drew the first 5 pages and some assorted character art and waited for me to finish the script for the first book. I actually had submitted the partially finished script and the first few pages to my editor friend at Studio Iron Cat for review and as a possible submission. And.. although she liked the initial artwork she did not like my female lead. She felt that some of the characterizations were too generic and bland and that my artist needed to do something to make her artwork stand apart from the other Amerimanga artists. Needless to say, that pretty much discouraged my artist and I struggled over the next 8 years to figure out what the heck to do with my partially written scripts. I had a definitive beginning and a definitive ending written but nothing in between.

The initial idea was to have a character that starts off damaged and has already fallen but follow her path back upwards to redemption. It's mostly a story about personal transformation and overcoming the things in our past that haunt us.

But yeah, this comic is waaay unfinished but I figure that I should share what I have since I adore Ariella's artwork.
